Denise Williams

About the Artist

Denise Williams is a Waradgerie woman raised in Reservoir (Melbourne). Returning to painting while at TAFE, she explored new techniques that helped her heal through times of grief and deepen her connection to family and Country. Her work often reflects peaceful moments by the river at Narrandera and Robinvale, where the act of sitting, watching, and painting is both calming and restorative.

Growing up Denise learnt wood burning/pyrography from her Dad Kevin Williams, she primarily paints acrylic on canvas mostly on river landscapes of Narrandera and Robinvale; healing leaves and incorporates Waradgerie markings passed down through family and working with gum leaves.
