About the Artist

I am a Wakaman Artist I was born and raised in Far North Queensland.

My art is inspired by memories of our way of life spent camping, fishing, swimming in fresh water creeks and collecting little treasures on our travels. My Grandmother and Aunties shared stories of their childhood, how and where they lived and how they moved about with their parents my Great Grandparents and listening to them reflect on how it was for them.

The designs and patterns that I weave into my art is representative of the landscape and wild life from country and reflects memories and stories of life with the women in my family who maintained strong connections to country and family. As my art evolves, I reflect on their stories and you see this in my work.
