Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Price: $10,500
Story: This work is about memory — of stories my cousins told about diving for abalone down in Gippsland, on Gunnai Country. I never dived myself, but I remember the way they spoke about it — how the sea gave so much, how there was always more than enough to go around.
The texture and circles in this painting represent the shells, the shimmer of light under the water, and the sense of abundance that flowed through those times. It’s a reminder of how our families lived in rhythm with the tides, taking only what was needed and giving thanks for what was received. Abundance celebrates the spirit of reciprocity with the land and sea how it provides, sustains, and connected us long before we understood the word “sustainability.”
