Story:    This painting is of a time that I can envisage of my Farther as young boy when he learnt the art of playing the gum leaf. He grew up on the Sandhills in Narrandera. The Sandhills was a place in Narrandera that was walking distant to the Murrumbidgee River. Its here he grew up and would wander from the Sandhills down to the Murrumbidgee River and along the way collect his gum leaves to play. The Sandhills is a place where a lot of our family lived and was a place of great cultural and stories and times together where they would sing and play the guitar and enjoy one another’s company it was the place of Land of Song.
